According to some rumors recently appeared on the web, the new Samsung Galaxy F, folding smartphone announced earlier by the South Korean company Samsung, may not enjoy the benefits offered by Gorilla Glass. To push the South Korean company to avoid using the glass panel Gorilla Glass would be the same nature of the new Samsung Galaxy F. The latter will indeed be a smartphone that, during use, can be folded, and a similar detail could bring to the easy break of the protective panel.
In order to avoid similar problems, the company has engaged in the search for special materials, designed to best support the folding vein of the new device. In an attempt to find suitable components the company would have already turned to other companies, among which the Sumitomo Chemical of Japan stands out.
The latter has in fact already proposed a new prototype of a protective panel that, based on the use of transparent polyimide, would have beaten the competition, also represented by Corning itself. Despite the rumors and information about the new Samsung folding device are still few, a similar decision by the company could testify the desire of the latter to point, even for the future, right on smartphones of this type.
Currently, Samsung has not provided many details about the new device, confining itself to confirm the current commitment of the company for its creation. According to some rumors, however, the Samsung Galaxy F (the name has not yet been confirmed) can count on two displays, one more compact 4.6 “and the second, with a book opening, about 7.3”.
The company, for now, did not even want to restrict the field regarding the possible exit period of the device, so there is no other choice but to wait for official information.
