Notch phones began to get more popular after the launch of the Apple iPhone X, even though it has already existed on other phones before. We saw several devices arrive after them like LG G7 ThinQ, ASUS Zenfone 5, Huawei P20 Pro and Now iPhone XS, XS Max & iPhone XR. One of the categories not imagined to have this notch was that of Rugged phones. Now, this has just changed, with the arrival of Homtom Zoji Z33.
HomTom Zoji Z33 is a smartphone with 5.85 ” display at HD + resolution (720×1512) and aspect ratio of 19: 9. Under the body, we find a 1.5 GHz quad-core SoC MediaTek with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of expandable storage Z33 uses a system of double cameras at the rear (16 + 2 MP) and single at the front (13 MP). It is not lacking the release through recognition of the face or through the impression sensor, together with the support for the Dual-band Wi-Fi even at 5 GHz.
As for the LTE connectivity, there is the compatibility with the 800 MHz frequency used by Wind, while the connector for charging the battery (from 4,600 mAh ) is a modern USB Type-C with fast charging technology (5V / 2A ). Zoji Z33 is IP-68 certified against the introduction of liquids and dust, has two slots for SIM and is sold with Android 8.1 already pre-installed.
The Homtom Zoji Z33 comes with a USB-C port, the same we expect the other models. About a 3.5mm jack connection, however, we do not know anything yet. All three devices have a fingerprint sensor to unlock on the back. The Z33 comes in the colors black/green and black/orange. Other color variants are quite conceivable, for example, a completely black version.
With the present specs, the Homtom Zoji Z33 faces a big competition from Blackview, Ulefone, Poptel, and Cubot. The biggest differentiator to the competition is probably the Notch. The detailed test report will show if Homtom with Blackview and co. keep up or even overtake them. For the price and release date of the Homtom Zoji Z33, we do not have any info yet.
