The OnePlus 6T is expected to be officially announced in October or November (most likely) and will feature a fingerprint reader integrated into the screen. The manufacturer confirmed the information to CNET. Recently, images of what should be the packaging of the OnePlus 6T were released by some vehicles and attracted attention precisely for containing illustrations that indicate the digital reader on the model screen.
In addition to confirming that the feature will be featured on the OnePlus 6T, the manufacturer explained to CNET that it intended to launch the OnePlus 5T with the digital sensor under the screen, but at the time the technology was not mature enough to be available to the final user. Because of the novelty, the OnePlus 6T will not have a digital sensor in the back, obviously, and will get thicker, but very discreetly: 0.45mm more than the OnePlus 6.
OnePlus just did not give details about the OnePlus 6T hardware set, but some rumors have it that the model will have a 6.4-inch screen with a drop-shaped notch, Snapdragon 845 processor, 6GB to 8GB of RAM, from 128GB of internal data space and three cameras at the rear. In the United States, the price is expected to be around $550.
It is worth mentioning that the OnePlus 6T will not be the first model to have a digital sensor integrated in the display. Smartphones like Vivo X21 UD, Oppo R17, and Huawei Mate RS Porsche Design already offer this functionality.
