The first company to introduce the concept of the bezel-less phone in October 2016 was Xiaomi, who introduced Mi Mix and improved design with Mi Mix 2 and Mi Mix 2s. Today, Xiaomi’s president, Lin Bin, who makes the first move, sharing on Weibo the first image of Xiaomi Mi MIX 3, while CEO Lei Jun confirmed it. The new Mi Mix series smartphone comes with a fresh design.
Eliminating every bezel trail from the front, we have a single-screen mobile with surprisingly thin margins, and much smaller than the bezel-less Xiaomi Mi Mix 2. The way this is achieved is the front camera placement.
Like the Oppo Find X and the Honor Magic 2 announced yesterday, the rear side of the Mi Mix 3 will be folding revealing a new dual camera setup, the headset, and the front flash, though not shown clearly in the photo.
No official information was provided about the device’s specifications, but Mi Mix 3 is likely to be powered by Snapdragon 845 and 8GB RAM along with 128GB of storage space. It may also have the newest Google device, Android 9 when it’s released. The price is also not yet known, but it was announced by those responsible that availability will start in October.
