TCL is currently the leading maker of BlackBerry smartphones. Its current flagship BlackBerry Key2 was officially announced on June 7 with numerous enhancements on the BlackBerry KEYone, both on a functional and pure power level, with the introduction of the Snapdragon 660. However, Evan Blass published a tweet where can see the picture of a supposed Key2 Lite.
According to Blass, the device will have the same form factor and dimensions, which makes sense, considering that the QWERTY keyboard will not be as practical if you have to reduce your area and size of individual keys. However, the image shows red outlines and Blass tells us that the Key2 Lite will also be available in copper and blue, thus less institutional, more gaudy and youthful tones.

The puzzle to solve now is what specifications make this Key2 a Lite version. The dual cameras seem to stay there and it is highly likely that the TCL will maintain the resolution of both with 12MP while the screen will also be 4.5 inches FHD. The possibility here is that TCL changes the chip to a more economical one, such as the Helio P60, or even the same Snapdragon 625 present in the BlackBerry KEYone and that has more proofs than given.
But do we need a Key2 Lite? For many, the Key2 has a high price and unattractive, even considering everything it offers, so a Lite version of more attractive price, keeping the main novelties of the device, can be very attractive for a wider market. However, we will see if this BlackBerry Key2 Lite, with the name of Luna code, actually comes to fruition.
