TCL Communications-owned Alcatel unveiled its new smartphone lineup at Mobile World Congress 2018 (MWC) early this year. TCL announced Alcatel 5V, The device is intended to be a budget and the price of only 199 US dollars seems to confirm this.
The Alcatel 5V is the first phone from the company to embrace a notched design for the screen, sporting a 6.2-inch 19:9 aspect ratio FullView display that packs an HD+ (1500 x 720) resolution. The device, however, also does seem to carry a slight chin at the bottom of the display. The display up front is covered by a slightly curved Dragontail glass, and the device’s thinner bezels lead to an 88% screen-to-body ratio. Flip the phone over, and you’ll find that the handset sports a curved glass-like glossy back. The phone will be launched in two colors, ‘Spectrum Blue’ and ‘Spectrum Black’.
The camera system chosen by Alcatel chooses a dual sensor in the rear region 12 Megapixel and 2 Megapixel. The main has an aperture f / 2.2 and 2.4 the secondary, but will only be used to perform the portrait mode effectively. By interpolation, we can reach 16 Mpx. The front camera has 8MP and unlocking facial features. This mobile features scene detection by real-time AI, using algorithms, select the most appropriate settings for different scenes: portrait, night light, food, animals, plants, text, beach, blue skies, backlight, etc.
Taking a peek at the internals, the Alcatel 5V ships with the MediaTek Helio P22 (MT6762) and is coupled with both 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage, although the latter is expandable via a microSD slot. On the software side of things, users will gain access to Android 8.1 Oreo straight out of the box, and all of this is backed up by a pretty big 4,000mAh battery. Also, on an added note, a 3.5mm headphone jack is present.
As for the Wi-Fi 5v, Alcatel supports standards b, g, and n in the 2.4 GHz band. This smartphone has Bluetooth 4.2 and has GPS with A-GPS and GLONASS. This model has so NFC supports electronic payment. Another important thing that comprises this terminal is having a fingerprint sensor on the back.

For a budget smartphone Alcatel 5V I would say that looks pretty good. I love the design, battery, and several smart features dual camera. Neither processor is not bad, and display as the landscape with a higher resolution. For those interested in the Alcatel 5V, the smartphone will go on sale later this month for $199.99 in an unknown number of select markets, although the US will presumably be on the list.
