During the Google I / O event of this year, Big G has made available to some brands the opportunity to try out the Android P Developer Preview. Among the brands with which Google has decided to collaborate there is also Xiaomi, thus making available for download the first Developer Preview of Android P for its Mi MIX 2s. Even OnePlus was able to benefit from this opening by the Mountain View giant, given that the just presented OnePlus 6, was able to benefit from the beta testing program.
A beta version is available for these devices
So the first beta version for the first generation of Google Pixel and Pixel XL , as well as for the Google Pixel 2 (XL) , the Nokia 7 Plus , the Xperia XZ2 , the Essential Phone and for the upcoming OnePlus 6 and the China Smartphones Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S, Oppo R15 and Vivo X21 available. How to install the beta on these smartphones, we tell you in our guide: ” Android: How to install the Android P-beta on your smartphone “. In addition, it is clear that older Google devices, such as the Nexus 5X or the Nexus 6P Android 9.0 will not receive.
On the other hand, Android Android devices such as the HTC U11 life will certainly receive an Android P update. Since Android One obliges the manufacturers to equip their smartphones with OS updates for two years. In addition, you may assume that current top smartphones like the Huawei P20 Pro or the Galaxy S9 will receive an update to the new Google OS – even if this is not officially confirmed.

Today the Chinese house has made available for download the 2 Beta Preview of Android P, for its new flagship killer. Here are summarized all the news of the Beta 2 of the new operating system. The first change concerns new gestures that allow a smoother and more intuitive navigation within the interface, which can be customized through a specific section in the settings menu.
Switching to the multitasking menu it has been completely redesigned, this time thanks to a predisposition to horizontal cards like on iOS, unlike the latest versions of Android where the management of recent apps was done through a carousel menu.
The other innovations introduced in the second Developer Preview are the addition of the adaptive brightness function that, thanks to a greater use of machine learning, the smartphone will be able to independently adjust the brightness of the display in a much more precise way. Now Android P natively supports unlocking through facial recognition, in addition to other functions such as the adaptive battery, which through the use of artificial intelligence, allows you to manage the remaining charge according to the applications most used by us.
Finally, there is a non-disturbing advanced mode, which unlike previous versions of the green robot where once the message was activated was still displayed through the affixed pop-up, this time we can decide to completely remove the latter so as not to disturb the viewing of a video, or while we are facing the most intense gaming sessions.
How to Install Android P Beta 2 on the OnePlus 6
It appears that the process to install Android P Beta 2 on the OnePlus 6 is somewhat complicated, so we recommend you do this on TWRP. The only way to go back to the stable version is to use the OnePlus unbrick tool found on our forums to go back to OxygenOS 5.1.5. We do not recommend installing the beta on your device at this point in time.
Step 1 – Download the ROM File
Download the ROM from the Google Drive link or the Baidu link.
- Download Android P Beta 2 for the OnePlus 6 (Drive)
- Download Android P Beta 2 for the OnePlus 6 (Baidu) Password: vu2k
- Download Android P Beta 2 for the OnePlus 6 (AndroidFileHost)
Step 2 – Preparing for Installation
You’ll first want to back up all of your files. Once you’ve done that, boot into TWRP and perform a factory reset.
Step 3 – Installation
(if you haven’t already) Copy the file to your device and flash it through TWRP. Reboot the device (do not boot into the system) and boot into the OnePlus recovery. Select full wipe and boot your device normally after that.
Step 4 – Flash TWRP (Optional)
Once your device has finished booting and you’ve set it up, you can now flash TWRP and Magisk again if you want.
