Although the era of small vapes is upon us, many e-cigarette enthusiasts still prefer to DIY their atomizers. But what should they do if they don’t know how to change the Vape Oil cotton during the DIY process? Don’t worry; the editor will teach you three steps!
Cut the most commonly used silk cotton, MUJI, into pieces using scissors. Please don’t cut it all; leave a small portion attached. You can tear it by hand when needed. Use about 14-15 pieces of cotton. For a 2.5mm diameter, 14 bits are suitable, and for a 2.0mm diameter, 15 bits are eligible.
Instead of discarding the used carbon-deposited heating wire, keep it as a tool. It doesn’t need to be too long. Remove the non-woven fabric from both sides of the cotton. Fold the cotton and the heating wire in half, preparing it for installation.
Place the heating wire in the center of the cotton and loosely fluff the cotton. Pull it apart horizontally; there’s no need for neatness. The requirements for mouth suction and oil guidance are not high. That’s it!
Some may argue that this method is nonsense, as atomizer structures differ. However, I have 11 mouth-to-mouth atomizers, and this method works perfectly fine. As long as you correspond to the ring diameter according to the provided sizes, the core won’t burn unless the power is set too high. As for oil leakage, block the oil guide hole with cotton; there’s no need to fill the cotton groove. This method can also be used for large smoke atomizers. The measured resistance is above 0.4, and there’s no issue with a maximum of 4.5V.
This method is the easiest and most efficient way to install cotton. Compared to the traditional method, it eliminates the need for scissors or thread thinning. Prepare the cotton, tear off a piece when needed, rinse the atomizer with tap water, and change the cotton immediately. Isn’t it simple?
Furthermore, it’s worth reminding that the frequency of changing cotton depends on the color of the purchased e-liquid. Opt for light-colored e-liquids with less carbon buildup if you want to save trouble. If you prefer dark-colored e-liquids, replace the cotton every two days to prevent issues. However, if you use it less frequently, you can change it once a week. If the cotton becomes mushy due to accidental usage, it must be replaced immediately.
Changing the cotton more frequently won’t cause harm. You’ll not only enjoy the freshest taste but also improve your skills. The experience we gain from disassembling and reassembling e-cigarettes is what helps us master the craft. So, if you want to learn more about electronic cigarettes.
