Developer Gustave Monce has released a 2302.39 driver update today that makes the original Surface Duo run Windows 11 more smoothly.
The driver update does not include any new features, other than fixing Windows updates and screen rotation issues. This update also fixes issues reported by the Microsoft INF validation tool.
Gustave Monce mentioned in this update that manual access to the device manager is needed to upgrade the drivers, as translated by IGeekphone.
Users need to manually access the device Manager for driver updates in order to invoke the functions of certain sensors. Once the user has opened the Device Manager, right-click each “Qualcomm Sensor” and select “Update Device”, then select “Pick from a list”, then “Manually select from list” and select the first displayed Qualcomm driver. Click Next. Repeat for all sensor devices and then restart the device. The sensor should now work perfectly.
Known issues to look out for when installing Windows 11 on the original Surface Duo:
Calls cannot be made in Windows 11 22H2 or later
The screen rotation problem is still not smooth
It does not support charging in Windows and needs to be charged in the Android version
